Peking Opera Enters the Campus: Revitalizing Traditional Culture

On October 15, the "Chinese Culture Promotion Program," organized by The Chinese Educators' Association of Macau, was successfully held at Hou Kong Premier School (HKP). Actors from the China National Peking Opera Company, including Han Ningning, Bi Xiaoyang, Zhang Haoyang, Ye Guang, and Zhang Yixin, participated in the event, providing an engaging artistic experience for students and teachers. The aim was to enhance understanding of Peking Opera and immerse participants in the essence of Chinese traditional culture, thereby strengthening national pride and cultural confidence.

During the event, the speakers provided a systematic introduction to the knowledge and artistic features of Peking Opera, demonstrating various stage performance styles. This allowed students and teachers to gain insight into the art form. An interactive segment was also included, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with the actors, learning basic movements and performance techniques, and experiencing the unique charm of Peking Opera firsthand.

This initiative not only enriched the cultural life of the school but also provided a valuable opportunity for understanding and experiencing Peking Opera. Participants deepened their appreciation of this traditional art and felt the profound richness of Chinese culture, enhancing their cultural confidence. HKP will continue to host more traditional arts events, breathing new life and vitality into traditional culture on campus.
