To celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, on the morning of 26th September, the Civic Education teacher team organized a patriotism education themed assembly to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day. We also had the honour to have several distinguished guests from the Parents' Association to join us on the occasion.
At the beginning, all the teachers and students learned about the extraordinary years of our country's development through a short video. Then, students from the Guzheng class presented an ensemble performance – “My Motherland"; students from the art team presented the "Red Maiden" teacher-student stage show that combined piano, oboe, trumpet, calligraphy and gymnastics, to express the teachers' and students' deep affection for the motherland.
Women’s Daoshu and Gunshu performance demonstrated the power and beauty of Chinese martial arts; Chinese dance performance "Lantern Walk" served as an interpretation of the ancient Chinese history; along with the final poetry recitation, all of them demonstrated the patriotic heart of the students, who aspire to dedicate themselves to the motherland. The assembly not only demonstrated the confidence of HKP students and expressed their good wishes for the motherland, but also encouraged them to take the great revival of the Chinese nation as their own responsibility, and to work hard and strive to be the first.
