On December 16-21, 2023, 40 teachers and students went to Zhangjiajie and Changsha in Hunan Province for a six-day patriotic trip to learn about the history and culture of the mountains and the city.

Sponsored by the School Development Plan of the Education Fund of the Macao Government, the study tour aimed to broaden the horizons of teachers and students, enhance their knowledge and understanding of the modern development of the new generation of first-tier cities in the motherland, and cultivate their patriotic sentiments by conducting a field trip to study the geological and ecological environments of Zhangjiajie, as well as a study tour and sightseeing activities in Changsha.

On the first day of the trip, the teachers and students arrived at Zhangjiajie and visited the National Forest Park. The beauty of Zhangjiajie's geological landscape was breathtaking, and the students gained a close, vivid and in-depth understanding of its natural environment as well as a deeper understanding of the Motherland's long history and culture.

Afterwards, the group moved to Changsha for visits and learning. Teachers and students visited local large-scale enterprises, TV stations, and museums of different themes for in-depth study, from history and humanities to technological development and urban planning, all of which were very fruitful.

The trip not only allowed the students to observe the rapid development of the motherland from a close distance, but also provided them with more inspiration and reference for their future career planning. Through this field trip, teachers and students deeply felt the magnificent natural scenery and prosperous social and economic development of the motherland, which stimulated their patriotic feelings.

During the trip, students also developed their self-management, organisational skills and spirit of solidarity, and promoted friendship. They expressed that as young people in the new era, they would learn the basic knowledge and be determined to contribute to the development of the country and the society.
