K1 Parent-Child Tangyuan Cooking Activity

On February 21, 2025, the K1 class at HKP Kindergarten held a vibrant "Parent-Child Tangyuan Cooking" event.

The activity began with teachers introducing the Lantern Festival, the holiday associated with tangyuan, through pictures and videos. Parent volunteers then enthusiastically assisted in explaining and demonstrating the ingredients and process of making tangyuan, while children and parents watched attentively. During the hands-on session, parents and children sat together, shaping dough and filling it with sweet fillings. The children excitedly molded the dough into creative shapes, such as little stars and snowmen, sparking laughter with their adorable comments. Proudly holding up their round creations, the children beamed with joy. As trays of tangyuan were cooked, the classroom filled with steam and the delightful aroma of the festive treat. When bowls of hot tangyuan were served, children and parents shared the delicious results, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.

This culturally rich parent-child activity not only allowed children to experience the warmth of the festival but also deepened family bonds through collaboration, leaving everyone with unforgettable memories of the Lantern Festival.
