HKP Teachers Trip to Gansu

On the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Macau's return to the motherland, twenty-four teachers embarked on a patriotic journey to Gansu, and deeply felt the magnificence of the motherland and the arduous efforts of their predecessors. This trip is not only a spiritual baptism, but also a deep understanding and exploration of Chinese civilization.

Mogao Caves, an important destination of this patriotic journey, is an art treasure house that has attracted international attention, but it has suffered countless hardships over the years. It was not until the 1960s that the beloved Premier Zhou Enlai allocated special funds for its protection, and only then was it able to meet the art lovers around the world in its best form today. The country's emphasis on this cultural heritage and the joint protection of patriotic enterprises have made Mogao Caves the brightest star among the world's cultural heritage. In this ancient land, the teachers also retraced the frontier fortress that poets from ancient times to the present have sung about, and took everyone through Yangguan, Yumen Pass and Yardang Devil City with poems that travelled through thousands of years. These places have witnessed the changes of history, carried the poets' passions and dreams, and spread the charm of Chinese traditional culture. The teachers personally experienced the greatness and far-reaching impact of the Silk Road and felt the hardships and infinite courage of ancient merchants and travelers.

Dunhuang not only has a rich historical heritage, but also has an advanced urban management. This city, with its rapidly developing tourism industry, is admired for its standardized, professional and international tourism services. As the focus of world attention, Dunhuang is not only a shining business card of China's thousand-year-old culture, but also an important window for the world to understand China. These once quiet places now carry the turbulent lives of many people. This patriotic journey was not only a review of history, but also a spiritual touch, which made every teacher deeply realize that as educators, we shoulder the important task of inheriting and promoting Chinese culture.

With the teachers returning from this rewarding journey, this patriotic trip to Gansu ended successfully. It is not only a journey, but also a profound patriotic education. Let us hope that these teachers will bring their feelings and knowledge back to the classroom, and inspire more students to love and respect the motherland’s mountains, rivers and thousand-year-old culture.
