On December 6, 2023, our school welcomed the Macao Chinese Orchestra for an excellent campus concert. About 400 students and teachers from Kindergarten K2K3 enjoyed the performance, which aimed to inspire the children’s interest in Chinese music and enhance their artistic appreciation skills.

The Macao Chinese Orchestra played many classic songs for children, such as “Doraemon,” “Do Re Mi,” “Forever,” “Castle in the Sky,” “Jingle Bells,” “Disney Suite,” and “Traditional Yi Ethnic Folk Song.” The children sang with the beautiful melodies and clapped with the lively rhythms. Everyone was captivated by the harmonious music. The concert also introduced the children to the names and sounds of the Chinese musical instruments in an interactive way, and the children eagerly raised their hands to answer questions.

This activity exposed the children to various Chinese musical works and the joy of Chinese music, giving them a basic understanding of Chinese music and broadening their cultural and artistic horizons.
